Spring is here, the weather is warm, and the local farmers markets are packed with vendors selling fruit, veggies and all sorts of healthy items ... even grass-fed beef from Cartwheel Farms in northwest St. Johns County!
I had the pleasure recently of meeting and writing about local mom and artist Tara Ferriera (stylediner.com and www.taraferreira.com). She shopped locally for an entire month. Gasp! No Target! She even dined at independently owned restaurants (no chains!). And she did this with her two children, ages 3 and 1, and her husband, Seth Ferriera (who supported her fully, but didn't like the natural toothpaste or not having his favorite chips and ice cream for late-night snacking)!
